The story goes that it's named after three Swedish princesses who loved it, after their home economics teacher put the recipe in a cookbook written for them in the early 20th century. It was originally just called "green cake," which is honest but less romantic.
I served mine on a turned wooden cake stand with a slice already cut and waiting on a scalloped wine-red plate, against lavender. It's the most celebratory print in the set.
